Project Summary
The ALLIANCE project has been set up to guarantee the veracity of data and the transparency of European quality-labelled food chains. It proposes systemic solutions that go beyond current practices to improve traceability, guarantee authenticity, preserve quality and eliminate fraud in food products. It will use innovative methods and tools to detect falsification on the spot, as well as consolidating international and European links, raising awareness and promoting multi-stakeholder cooperation and information sharing.
It will also increase the transparency of supply chains for organic, PDO, PGI and GI products, through improved tracking and tracing mechanisms. Finally, it will provide food industry players, farmers, public authorities and policy-makers with useful information through seven different use cases.
