European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)
Founded in 1991 to help build a new, post-Cold War era in Central and Eastern Europe, the EBRD is an investment bank committed to promoting market-oriented economies and private and entrepreneurial initiatives. Since its inception, the EBRD has expanded its operations in new countries. It is currently active in more than 30 countries from central Europe to central Asia and the southern and eastern Mediterranean.The EBRD strives to develop a sound investment climate and promote environmetally and socially sound and sustainable development.
The CIHEAM and the EBRD have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 21 September 2016 aimed at enhancing their cooperation.
