Mrs. Sanae Touali receives the CIHEAM best thesis prize (Meknes, Morocco, 4 June 2022)
It is at the National School of Agriculture of Meknes (ENA Meknes) that Mrs. Sanae Touali, a graduate of the CIHEAM Montpellier (France) received the prize for the Best Thesis of the CIHEAM 2021 in the presence of its director Mr. Saïd Amriri, Mr. Thierry Dupeuble and Mr. Philippe Le Grusse, respectively, director and director of studies at the CIHEAM Montpellier Institute.
Ms. Touali's work on the analysis of the resilience of agricultural production systems in the Setif plain in Algeria had convinced and seduced the jury of the CIHEAM Advisory Board. Composed of eminent members of research and teaching, the jury took into account the originality and scientific value of the work presented, its applicability, and its exemplary character in the field of Mediterranean cooperation.
As a reward, Mrs. Sanae Touali received a silver medal from the CIHEAM, a diploma signed by the Secretary-General, Mr. Placido Plaza Lopez, and the President of the CIHEAM, Mr. Mohamed Sadiki current Minister of Agriculture in Morocco.
A few months earlier, under this prize, she had also obtained funding of up to 5000 euros in support of her research. With this support, Ms. Touali was able to finance a feasibility study in the field of plastic recycling in the context of the circular economy in Morocco.
For 10 years, the CIHEAM has rewarded the best works of students from its 4 Agronomic Institutes (Bari, Chania, Montpellier, and Zaragoza). It thus intends to contribute to supporting young people in research, to giving greater visibility to their potential and the solutions they develop for sustainable development and Mediterranean cooperation.
