Mohammed Sadiki has been aAwarded the Ordre du Mérite Agricole, Commander Rank in France

Mohammed Sadiki, former Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests of Morocco, has been elevated to the rank of Commander of the "Ordre du Mérite Agricole" by the French Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Forestry, Mrs Annie Genevard. This honor recognises an exceptional career dedicated to research, agricultural policy management, and international cooperation for more sustainable and inclusive agri-food systems. Also present at the ceremony were Mr Marc Fesneau, former French Minister of Agriculture, as well as representatives from the agri-food sectors and public and private organisations committed to sustainable agriculture and food systems.

A Strong Commitment Within the CIHEAM
Beyond his ministerial and academic roles, Mohammed Sadiki played a decisive role within the CIHEAM, where he successively served as Delegate of Morocco, Vice-President, and ultimately President of the Governing Board. His mandate was marked by a strong commitment to food sovereignty, climate change adaptation, and improving the livelihoods of rural communities. Convinced that education and applied research are key drivers of agricultural development, he actively promoted the expansion of the CIHEAM training programmes and the strengthening of synergies between its Institutes and member countries.

Throughout his career, Mohammed Sadiki distinguished himself through his commitment to strengthening dialogue among Mediterranean countries, advocating for regional cooperation based on knowledge-sharing and the exchange of best practices. His leadership within the CIHEAM helped enhance the organisation’s visibility and influence, embedding its work within an international framework addressing major global agricultural and food security challenges.
