Organized by CIHEAM with the support of ICARDA under the 7th Farming System Design (FSD) Symposium
Climate Smart Agricultural Systems for a Sustainable Transition in the Agri-food Systems of the Dry Areas (20-23 MARCH 2022)
This symposium will aim to discuss findings and initiatives for dryland agri-food systems, using as an entry point of integration (down to the field and up to landscape, market and ecosystems) in the farm household and its role in sustainable food production within an uncertain climatic and socio-economic context. With additional growing uncertainties around the globe as witnessed by the recent spread of the novel COVID-19, the question of food security and self-sufficiency is progressively more pressing and designing innovative farming systems is becoming key.
