The 25th edition of the International Forum of the Economiste Maghrebin, organised in partnership with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, took place in Tunis on 25 April. Entitled "Food Sovereignty in the New Geopolitics", the Forum focused its debates on issues relating to the resilience of food systems and their financing, and the governance of water resources.
The judicious use of science and technology to achieve sustainable agri-food systems in the new geopolitical context emerging at global level was also discussed.
Yasmine Seghirate, Administrator at the CIHEAM General Secretariat, spoke about food sovereignty, highlighting the importance of dialogue at the Mediterranean level and the need for greater cooperation based on solidarity to face new challenges. The panel was also composed by Mr. François Dumont, Belgian Ambassador to Tunisia, Ms. Anne Guéguen, French Ambassador to Tunisia, Ms. Raoudha Gafrej, hydraulic engineer, and Mr. Boubaker Karray, university lecturer.
