On 7 October 2022, the new delegate of Spain to the CIHEAM, Mr. Miguel Angel Riesgo Pablo, Counsellor for Agriculture at the Spanish Embassy in France, paid a first visit to the CIHEAM General Secretariat based in Paris, where he was welcomed by Mr. Plácido Plaza, Secretary General.

The meeting was an opportunity for Mr. Plaza to talk about the identity and the mission of the CIHEAM, as well as to introduce the staff of the General Secretariat. In addition, Mr. Raúl Compés, Director of CIHEAM Zaragoza, was able to intervene by video conference to recall the history of the CIHEAM Institute in Zaragoza (Spain) and the ongoing activities concerning education, research, and innovation.

The delegate's visit was an occasion to highlight Spain's enduring commitment within the CIHEAM, as well as to discuss future convergences.
