The closing event of the GEMAISA2 project “Strengthening Gender Mainstreaming for Sustainable Rural Development and Food Security” took place on Friday, 15 October 2021, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm CET.
This event was included in the Sustainable Development Festival, a high-level and highly prestigious initiative promoted by the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development, which selected the GEMAISA project for its ability to promote dialogue and interaction on gender equality and women’s empowerment (GEWE) issues in the Mediterranean area.
This initiative is part of the celebration of the International Day of Rural Women, to highlight the importance of the participation of rural women in development processes on this significant day.
During this meeting, the results obtained in the framework of GEMAISA by CIHEAM BARI, at the local and institutional levels, as well as the video documentary: "I am a farmer. I am a woman" by Ernesto Pagano.
This documentary highlights women farmers from five different countries (Egypt, Palestine, Lebanon, Tunisia, Morocco) to tell their stories.
