The CIHEAM Governing Board met for the 155th time on July 11 and 12, 2024, in Birgu, Malta. On the morning of 12 July, a high-level debate entitled "Mediterranean Approach to Food Sovereignty: Concerns and Impacts on Sustainable Food Systems" was held. This event served as a prelude to the 12th CIHEAM Ministerial Meeting scheduled for 25 October in Rabat, Morocco. #CIHEAM12Ministerial

Coorganisée par le CIHEAM et le GID, la Xe Conférence PARMÉNIDES a réuni à l’Institut Agronomique Méditerranéen de Chania (Crète, Grèce) de nombreux intervenants pour échanger sur l’avenir des forêts méditerranéennes autour du thème “Les arbres et la forêt face aux changements globaux : Les pays méditerranéens à l’avant-garde”. Les conférences se poursuivent avec la deuxième session, “Optimiser les synergies entre les secteurs d’activité et les biens et services de la forêt méditerranéenne”, qui se termine avec cette table ronde intitulée “Aménagement du territoire favorisant les arbres en milieu rural ou urbain et prévenant les feux de forêt” dont l’ambition est d’exposer des modes de gestion de la forêt alliant ses différentes fonctions, y incluant la présence humaine et prévenant des risques encourus. 

Coorganized by the CIHEAM and the GID, the Xth PARMENIDES Conference has brought together numerous speakers at the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania (Crete, Greece) to discuss the future of Mediterranean forests under the theme “Trees and Forest Facing Global Change: Mediterranean Countries At The Forefront”. The conferences continues with the second session, “Optimize synergies between sectors of activity and Mediterranean forest goods and services
”, that ends with this round table titled “Land use planning favoring trees in rural or urban areas and preventing forest fires” which aim is to show how to manage the forest by combining its various funtions, taking into account the presence of people and preventing risks it encounters.
