We offer 20 different Master Programs in 5 fields that are essential to agricultural and rural development and related to our Strategic Mediterranean Agenda 2025

  • Food security, safety and nutrition
  • Innovative agricultural production systems
  • Economics, management and rural territories development
  • Environment and natural resources management
  • Sustainable fisheries and aquaculture

They are offered in the 4 CIHEAM Institutes and are often devised in partnership with member countries’ Higher Education and Research Institutions.

CIHEAM has adapted the structure of his Master Programs to the requirements of the Bologna process, particularly with respect to the credit structure and content, the adoption of the ECTS (European Credit transfer system) and the Diploma Supplement.

  • Bari (Italy) 

The CIHEAM-Bari provides 3 Master programmes and issues 2 diplomas:

  • The Master of MAIB (corresponding to a minimum of 5 years of studies): this diploma is co-delivered with the Italian university -LUM Jean Monnet/School of Management- and consequently recognized by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research. It is awarded to students who successfully complete the first year of the Master of Science programmes and allows pursuing PhD studies in Italian universities.
  • The Master of Science of the CIHEAM (corresponding to a minimum of 6 years of studies): this diploma is awarded to students who successfully complete the first and the second year of the programmes.
  • Chania (Greece) 

The CIHEAM-Chania provides 5 master programmes and issues the following degrees:

  • The Master of Science of the CIHEAM corresponding to a minimum of 6 years of studies (i.e. min 4 undergraduate years + 2 postgraduate), which is recognized, for all 4 CIHEAM Institutes, by the Hellenic NARIC as equivalent to the Master Degree awarded by the Greek HEI, which allows pursuing PhD studies in Greek universities.
  • The Master of MAICh, awarded to those students who successfully complete the first year requirements but do not complete the second year of the M.Sc.
  • Montpellier (France) 

The CIHEAM-Montpellier provides 4 Master programmes and issues two diplomas:

  • The Master (M2, corresponding to 5 years of studies in higher education): this diploma is accredited by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research and allows pursuing PhD studies in French universities.
  • The Master of Science of the CIHEAM (corresponding to 6 years of studies in higher education)
  • Zaragoza (Spain) 

The CIHEAM-Zaragoza provides 8 Master programmes and issues two diplomas:

  • The Master of Science of the CIHEAM (corresponding to a minimum of 5 years of studies in higher education): this diploma is fully recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Higher Education as equivalent to the official Master Degree of the Spanish University System, and allows pursuing PhD studies in Spanish universities.
  • The Postgraduate Specialization of the CIHEAM (corresponding to a minimum of 4 years of studies), awarded to those students that have successfully complete the first year of the Master of Science programmes.
