We offer 20 different Master's Programmes in 5 fields that are essential to agricultural and rural development and related to our Strategic Agenda 2025 for the Mediterranean

  • Environment and natural resources management
  • Sustainable fisheries and aquaculture

The courses are available at the four CIHEAM Institutes and are devised in partnership with higher education adn research institutions in member countries.
Diploma courses are designed and structure in accordance with the ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) criteria. In order to facilitate recognition and improve the transparency of its qualifications, the CIHEAM delivers a diploma supplement as required under the Bologna Process.

  • Bari (Italy) 

The CIHEAM-Bari provides 3 Master's programmes and delivers 2 diplomas:

  • The Master's courses of the MAIB (corresponding to a minimum of 5 years of studies): this diploma is co-delivered with the Italian university - LUM Jean Monnet/School of Management- and consequently recognised by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research. It is awarded to students who successfully complete the first year of the Master of Science programmes and enables to pursue a PhD course in Italian universities.
  • The Master of Science of the CIHEAM (corresponding to a minimum of 6 years of studies): this diploma is awarded to students who successfully complete the first and the second year of the course.
  • Chania (Greece) 

The CIHEAM-Chania provides 5 Master's programmes and delivers the following degrees:

  • The Master of Science of the CIHEAM corresponding to a minimum of 6 years of studies (i.e. minimum 4 undergraduate years + 2 postgraduate), which is recognised by the Hellenic NARIC as equivalent to the Master Degree awarded by the Greek HEI, enabling to pursue doctoral studies in Greek universities.
  • The Master of the MAICh, awarded to those students who successfully complete the first year.
  • Montpellier (France) 

The CIHEAM-Montpellier provides 4 Master's programmes and delivers two diplomas:

  • The Master (M2, corresponding to 5 years of studies in higher education): this diploma is accredited by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research and allows to pursue a PhD in French universities.
  • The Master of Science of the CIHEAM (corresponding to 6 years of studies in higher education)
  • Zaragoza (Spain) 

The CIHEAM-Zaragoza provides 8 Master's programmes and delivers two diplomas:

  • The Master of Science of the CIHEAM (corresponding to a minimum of 5 years of studies in higher education): this diploma is fully recognised by the Spanish Ministry of Higher Education as equivalent to the official Master's Degree of the Spanish University System, and allows to pursue a PhD in Spanish universities.
  • The Postgraduate Specialisation of the CIHEAM (corresponding to a minimum of 4 years of studies), awarded to those students that have successfully complete the first year of the Master of Science programmes.
